HC Deb 22 June 1882 vol 271 c34
MR. JUSTIN M'CARTHY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether his attention has been called to the case of Denis Mulligan, of Kilrea, in the county of Longford, imprisoned as a suspect in Kilmainham Gaol since the 17th of January last; and, whether, considering the character of the man and the peaceful condition of the county, he will not recommend Mr. Mulligan's release?

MR. TREVELYAN

Sir, Denis Mulligan's case was considered by the Lord Lieutenant on the 8th instant, who decided then that he should be further detained for the present. The case will be soon again reconsidered.
