HC Deb 08 June 1882 vol 270 c493
MR. O'CONNOR POWER

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If there is any reason for the further detention of Mr. Thomas Dunleavy, a suspect, in Galway Gaol, who has been imprisoned for eighteen months, and who belongs to Kilmonee, in the county of Mayo, a district free from disturbance and outrage?

MR. TREVELYAN

His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant reconsidered Mr. Thomas Dunleavy's case on the 30th of May, and decided that he could not at present order his release. The hon. and learned Member is in error in supposing that Mr. Dunleavy has been for 18 months in detention. He was arrested on the 23rd of November last, and has, therefore, been in custody for about six and a-half months.
