HC Deb 27 July 1882 vol 272 c1983
MR. LABOUCHERE

Will the Prime Minister tell the House from what source the letter that was published in the newspapers as coming from Arabi Bey to him was received?

MR. GLADSTONE

I have no objection to state the source from which I received this letter. It was received under a covering letter from Mr. Blunt, and I have no doubt my hon. Friend understands his connection with the Egyptian Question. I may say that I do not understand the language in which the letter purports to be written; but it was sent to me with a translation in the same handwriting as the letter accompanying it.
