TALBOTasked the Vice President of the Council, Whether the Government have come to any conclusion as to renewing or modifying the powers now exercised by the Charity Commissioners with regard to Endowed Schools, as to which he stated that the matter was under the consideration of Her Majesty's Government; and, whether it is intended to fill up the vacancy caused by the death of Canon Robinson, one of the Charity Commissioners?
§ MR. MUNDELLASir, the re-organization of the Endowed Schools Commission which had been in contemplation cannot be accomplished during the present Session. It is, therefore, intended to renew the present Act for a period of one or two years. It is also intended to fill up the vacancy occasioned by the lamented decease of Canon Robinson.
