HEALYasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether His Excellency has yet given any decision in the case of Mr. John Ladrigan, confined in Kilmainham Gaol since the 17th February; whether Mr. Daniel MacSweeney, of Donegal, has been confined in Dundalk Gaol for over twelve months; whether his district is peaceable; and, if the Government can see their way to releasing him?
§ MR. TREVELYANHis Excellency has decided that he cannot at present order Mr. Ladrigan's release. I may inform the hon. Member that Mr. Jennings, as to whom he made an inquiry lately, as being in ill-health, has been released from detention.
