HC Deb 13 July 1882 vol 272 c272
MR. ANDERSON

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, If ho is aware that, in the last issue of Egypt papers, four of the London newspapers were furnished with advance copies, all of the others and the whole provincial press, with perhaps one exception, being left out; and, if ho will take care that in the issue this week, and in future, the Central News and the Press Association be also supplied with copies?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

In order to prevent complaints of undue preference, instructions have been issued to the effect that no Papers shall be published until they are in the hands of Members.

MR. ANDERSON

As the Foreign Office has now renounced this objectionable practice, I beg to give Notice that I shall put a similar Question to every other Government Department that continues it.
