HC Deb 12 July 1882 vol 272 c253
MR. W. H. SMITH

asked, Whether any further information as to Alexandria had been received?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

Sir, the only telegram we have received is one dated 2.20 P.M.— This morning, at 10.30, the Inflexible and-Téméraire fired three shells into Port Moncrieff, Ras-el-Tin. No other ships engaged. Further operations suspended on flag of truce being hoisted at the arsenal. Gunboat, under flag of truce, proceeded, and remains. Achilles arrived.

House adjourned at one minute before Six o'clock.
