HC Deb 03 July 1882 vol 271 c1234
MR. O'KELLY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether there is any special reason for the further detention of Mr. John Daly, Ballyfarnon, county Roscommon, at present a suspect in Enniskillen, seeing that the district is peaceable, and that another man arrested at same time and on same charge has been released?

MR. TREVELYAN

Sir, John Daly is detained on reasonable suspicion of being guilty as principal of murder. His Excellency, having recently considered his case, decided that he could not order his release.
