MR. GLADSTONEI wish to ask leave of the House to make a correction. Last night I stated that I would look again into what I said about the question of closing power in the Colonial Assemblies, and I am sorry to say that I made a mistake, which was due to infirmity of sight. I believe the case to be that there is a closing power in the Legislative Assemblies of the Cape, South Australia, and Victoria, and that there is no closing power in the central Assembly of the Dominion of Canada, Tasmania, or New Zealand.
