§ MR. CHILDERSSir, in reply to my hon. Friend, I have to state that in April last the North Borneo Company applied to be allowed to purchase from the War Department some old guns and ammunition. Fifteen old smoothbore howitzers of obsolete pattern, with 50 rounds each, were sold to them after reference to the Foreign Office. The cost is estimated at about £1,000.
