asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, How many and which of the Sub-Commissioners under "The Land Act, 1881," have been appointed for seven years, and how many for any shorter periods of time?

, in reply, said, that 12 of the Commissioners were appointed for seven years, the remaining 24 for one year certain, with the possibility, of course, of their continuing in office should the work of the Commission not be completed.
