§ MR. W. S. ALLEN (for Sir THOMAS CHAMBERS)asked the Postmaster General, What number of female clerks are employed in the Post Office under the recent arrangement, including those just appointed; and, whether it is intended to make any considerable addition to the present staff within the next six months?
§ MR. FAWCETTIn reply to my hon. Friend, I may state that the number of female clerks now employed at the Central Office in London is about 350. A considerable addition will be made to the staff in the next six months; but the increase will probably not exceed the number of the fresh appointments made during the last six months.
