HC Deb 03 August 1882 vol 273 cc583-4
MR. BIGGAR

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether, when Major Blair, R.M., went on the platform at the Orange meeting on the 12th July, at Rossmore Park, County Monaghan, he did so in his official capacity; and, whether it is usual for the stipendiaries in command of police drafted to prevent disturbance at meetings to go upon the platform?

MR. TREVELYAN

The hon. Member is under some misapprehension. Major Blair informs me that he did not go on to the platform at the Orange meeting on the 12th of July.
