HC Deb 28 April 1882 vol 268 c1678
MR. FIRTH

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether, having regard to the important constitutional issues involved, he will afford facilities for the discussion of a Motion on behalf of the electors of Northampton, that they be heard at the Bar of the House in accordance with the prayer of their Petition recently presented to the House?

MR. GLADSTONE,

in reply, said, he could not say that he thought the present state of the Business of the House left it in the power of the Government, with a due regard to the calls of other subjects which were immediately coming before the House, to facilitate the discussion of a Motion with regard to the representation of Northampton.
