HC Deb 12 May 1881 vol 261 c281
MR. GLADSTONE

As to the course of Business to-night, the Government will offer no opposition to the adjournment of the debate on the Land Law (Ireland) Bill at such an hour as the House may think fit; but, at the same time, I should desire to call the attention of the House to the fact that the debate on the Bill has been unusually prolonged. ["No!"] Well, it has gone on an unusual length of time. I do not say it is without precedent; but if it is further adjourned Monday next will be the seventh night of its extension, and I wish to express a hope that the debate will, at any rate, close on Monday.
