HC Deb 12 May 1881 vol 261 c272
MR. O'SHEA

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether, in consideration of the length of time during which many officers in the Army have been kept in uncertainty as to their fate under the re-organization scheme, he will urge on the Committees which are sitting at the War Office for the purpose of settling the details of that scheme the advisability of speedily reporting thereon?

MR. CHILDERS

In reply to my hon. Friend, I have to assure him that we are making satisfactory progress with the details of the changes due to the General Plan of Re-organization which I have explained to the House. The Committee are sitting from clay to day, and a great many questions have been settled by the Commander-in-Chief and myself; and I fully hope to complete and publish the decisions which have to be made in a reasonable time, before the 1st of July.
