HC Deb 02 June 1881 vol 261 c1887
MR. O'SULLIVAN

asked Mr. Attorney General for Ireland, Whether it is true that a proclamation has been issued this day, declaring a part of this county under martial law so far as to prevent the people from assembling in the district; and, if so, whether he will state why martial law has been proclaimed without the authority of the House?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. LAW),

in reply, said, he had received no information on the subject.
