HC Deb 02 June 1881 vol 261 c1984

MOTION FOR LEAVE.

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. LAW),

in moving for leave to bring in a Bill to amend the Law relating to the Official Staff of the Court of Bankruptcy in Ireland, said, the passing of the Bill was of great importance to the Court. It was to authorize the appointment of a successor to the late Chief Clerk, Mr. Farrell, who had died some time ago, and thus enable the Court to go on with its work. He hoped the Bill would not be opposed.

MR. O'SHEA

I object to the Motion.

MR. CALLAN

thought it undesirable to introduce the Bill then. There was a Notice of Motion on the Paper to refer the subject to a Select Committee.

MR. SPEAKER

There having been no Sitting of the House yesterday, the objection of the hon. Member (Mr. O'Shea) prevails.

Motion put off.
