HC Deb 14 July 1881 vol 263 cc849-50
MR. HOLLOND

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, What is the amount of security required by the Inclosure Commissioners before they entertain any application for the appointment of an Allotment Committee under section 9 of "The Poor Allotments Management Act, 1873;" and, whether any such Committee has been appointed by the Inclosure Commissioners in accordance with the above Act?

SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT,

in reply, said, there was no fixed amount of security required. The amount was estimated only as to the probable sum required to cover expenses. There had been only three applications made to the Commissioners under the Act. In two of these cases they had no jurisdiction; and in the third—the parish of Waterbeach—they stated that they would hold au inquiry on receiving £30 as security for costs; but the applicant did not proceed with the matter.
