HC Deb 04 July 1881 vol 262 c1952
SIR JOHN HAY

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If he will lay upon the Table a Return of the number of persons reasonably supposed to have been murdered in England, Scotland, and Ireland, for which no convictions have taken place, since the 1st January 1871?

SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT

in reply, said, he had inquired into this matter, and he found that there were no materials from which such a Return as was asked could be made.
