HC Deb 21 February 1881 vol 258 c1377
MR. CAINE

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, When he will be able to lay upon the Table of the House the Return of Public Money paid to Members of Parliament, ordered upon the 28th of January last?

LORD FREDERICK CAVENDISH

The Return of Public Money paid to Members of Parliament is ready so far as regards Naval and Civil funds; but it will be 10 days or a fortnight before the information can be given as regards Army Services. Members of the House of Commons are not in any way distinguished from other officers of Her Majesty's Forces; and the rolls of the Militia and the Yeomanry regiments must be very carefully examined in order to ascertain the Members of Parliament who bear commissions.
