RICHARDasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, 1387 Whether it is not the fact that, although the Channel Islands are expressly included in the Burial Act of 1880, the inhabitants of Guernsey are deprived of the advantages of the Act by the refusal of the Royal Court, sanctioned by the States of Guernsey, to obey the Order in Council requiring the registration of the Act; whether the Government will take steps to bring the Law into operation in the Island; and, whether he will lay before Parliament the correspondence which has taken place on the subject between the local authorities and others and the Home Office?
§ SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT,in reply, said, the correspondence on the subject was not yet complete. He would do all he could to give effect to the Act of last Session.
