SIR BALDWYN LEIGHTON

begged to give Notice that on Thursday next he should ask the Secretary of State for War, with reference to the public statements lately made by General Roberts on the subject of short service, What steps the Government intend to take to secure the future efficiency and internal economy of the Army?

MR. CHILDERS

Sir, I will answer that Question at once. I shall state fully the views of Her Majesty's Government as to length of service on moving the Army Estimates.
