asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether he can now inform the House the result of Sir Evelyn Wood's inquiries on the subject of the surrender of Potchefstroom, as to any knowledge which the Boers had of the armistice at the time of the surrender?

No, Sir. We have no further information, doubtless because Sir Evelyn Wood has gone to Pretoria, and is beyond the range of telegraphic communication.
