HC Deb 07 April 1881 vol 260 c886
SIR BALDWYN LEIGHTON

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to deal with the whole question of Local Taxation next Session?

MR. GLADSTONE

Sir, Her Majesty's Government are very anxious to deal with this question, which they consider to be both important and urgent, in a comprehensive manner. At the same time, we should be very bold at this moment to say what subjects we intended to deal with in the course of the next Session of Parliament.
