MR. ASHTON DILKE
asked the Under Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether there is any intention of removing the prison of Newcastle upon Tyne; and, if so, whether due attention will be paid to the wishes and opinions of the authorities and inhabitants of Newcastle on the subject?
§ MR. ARTHUR PEEL,
in reply, said, that the question of the removal of the 529 prison of Newcastle-upon-Tyne was now under the consideration of the Secretary of State. Any representation from the authorities of the town or other persons interested in the matter would receive the most careful consideration.
