§ MR. BAXTERsaid, that before renewing in the present Session his Motion to the effect that "the Land Laws of the United Kingdom, in respect to entail, primogeniture, settlements, and transfer, and in other particulars, are not in a satisfactory state, and require the attention of Her Majesty's Government with a view to their alteration," he would ask the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether it was the intention of Her Majesty's Government—not this Session, because no one could expect that the Government could deal with such a subject this Session—at an early convenient period to deal comprehensively with this whole subject in the spirit of the Resolution which he had just read?
