HC Deb 16 March 1880 vol 251 c1097
MR. MELDON

asked the Attorney General for Ireland, Whether his attention has been called to the floods of a very serious character which have occurred in the neighbourhood of Monasterevan, in the county of Kildare, during the past autumn, and recently recurred; whether these floods have been caused by the overflow of the River Barrow, and, if the Government will direct an inquiry to be made as to the best means of preventing the further recurrence of such floods?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. GIBSON)

Sir, there has been no time to make inquiries into this matter; but I shall see that it is inquired into.
