HC Deb 05 March 1880 vol 251 cc438-9
LORD CHARLES BERESFORD

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, If the Admiralty are going to grant any help towards the proposed recreation ground for the Officers, Blue Jackets, Marines, and Soldiers, at Portsmouth; and, if so, whether in money, labour, or material?

MR. W. H. SMITH

Sir, the question of providing a recreation ground for the Navy and Army at Portsmouth has been under the consideration of a joint committee of Officers of both Services at Portsmouth, and their Report, which includes the questions of the expense which may be contributed from Navy funds, or of any assistance which may be provided from the Dockyard, is now under the consideration of the Admiralty.
