DILKESir, Mr. Michell himself was understood to be of opinion that his presence at Philippopolis for a time was unnecessary, and anxious on the ground of his ill health to be away; and he has been given leave to come home. No successor has been appointed; but one of the third Secretaries of the Embassy at Constantinople has been placed in charge of the Consulate General for a time.
