MR. DODSON, in reply, said, the so-called local finance statement had hitherto been made in connection with the Public Works Loans Bill, and that, as this measure had already gone up from the House of Commons to the House of Lords, the appropriate opportunity for making the statement this year had 1198 passed. The Annual Local Taxation Returns, however, which were in the hands of hon. Members, would give all the information which would form the basis of such a statement could convey.
