§ MR. COOPEasked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether he is now able to lay upon the Table of the House the Resolutions adopted by the Trustees of the National Gallery as to giving increased facility for the admission to the public; and, whether he is prepared to state what action the Government is now willing to take in the matter?
§ MR. ADAMThe copy of the Resolutions passed by the Trustees of the National Gallery, and their remarks explanatory of them, have been laid on the Table of the House, and will shortly be printed. The initiative in this matter rests with the Trustees, and not with the Government; but the latter will be prepared to consider any proposals that may be made to them on the subject, with the view of giving, if possible, increased facilities to the public and students.
