MR. RAIKES

said, the Chester Gas Bill was a measure which affected the interests of his constituents; and having become unopposed, it would, in the ordinary course of events, come before him. That, however, was undesirable, considering the relation in which he stood to the City of Chester; and he would, therefore, move— That the Chairman of the Committee of Ways and Means be discharged from attendance on the Chester Gas Bill, and that the Chairman of the Committee on Standing Orders he appointed Chairman of the Committee on the said Bill.

Motionagreed to.

Ordered,That the Chairman of the Committee of Ways and Means he discharged from attendance on the Chester Gas Bill, and that the Chairman of the Committee on Standing Orders be appointed Chairman of the Committee on the said Bill.—(The Chairman of Ways and Means.)
