§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERI am anxious to lay the Estimate upon the Table as soon as I am in a position to submit an Estimate that would give information to the House. The same reason that prevented me laying one before the House at the time of the Budget still prevents me doing so, until we get some further information. I hope that before long we may be in a position to propose a Vote of Credit. Of course, before the close 400 of the Session it will be necessary for us to do so, and I hope it will be at an early date. As soon as I am in a position to place a Supplementary Estimate before the House on which any reliance can be placed, I shall be happy to do so.
