asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he will take steps to obtain copies of the evidence produced at the trial by Court Martial of a sergeant of the 60th Rifles for retiring a picket without the order of his officer on an alarm of the enemy, at which he was sentenced to five years' penal servitude and reduction to the ranks?

, in reply, said, he was informed that the proceedings of the court martial on a sergeant of the 60th Rifles would be forwarded for the information of His Royal Highness the Commander-in-Chief. The proceedings of courts martial were held to be privileged.
