HC Deb 13 May 1879 vol 246 c326

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That Mr. Shaw Lefevre be a Member of the Select Committee on the Bill."

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

said, that he was surprised that the Motion should be brought on. No one had been consulted with regard to this matter; and it was without parallel, in so far as he knew, for a Committee to be nominated consisting of three Members from one side and only one from the other. Under these circumstances, he moved the adjournment of the House.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this House do now adjourn."—(Sir Charles W. Dilke.)

COLONEL LOYD LINDSAY

did not know that there was any opposition to the Motion, but it was understood that everyone was agreed.

Motion agreed to.

Debate adjourned till Thursday.
