§ LORD GEORGE HAMILTONSir, the new Education Code has for some time past been in the hands of the printers, and will very shortly be distributed. The delay which has occurred was in consequence of certain questions arising from the Report of the Auditor General to the Public Accounts Committee as to the powers of the Education Department to interpret their own Code; and until those questions had been dis- 17 cussed, it was difficult for us to decide whether any changes were necessary or not in the phraseology of the Code.
