§ MR. E. STANHOPEWith reference to a Question answered yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, I have to say that, for my part, I had been in the House for the greater part of the day, and while here I had not received any information on the subject of the Question. The House is aware that certain disturbances have taken place in Burmah. We received yesterday afternoon a telegram from the Viceroy of India, to the effect that he thought it desirable to despatch three regiments—two Native and one British —to British Burmah, to reinforce the troops there.
