MR. O'CONNOR POWERasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether the provisions of the Bill, now in preparation, for the purpose of carrying out certain recommendations of the Select Committee which inquired last Session into the mode of election of Poor Law guardians are to be extended to Ireland, or whether a separate Bill for Ireland will be brought in by the Government?
§ MR. J. LOWTHERI have no knowledge of any such Bill as that to which the hon. Gentleman refers, so I conclude that it cannot in any way be intended to apply to Ireland. The Report of the Committee to which reference is made is now under the consideration of the Government, and the decision at which we arrive will in due course be communicated to the House.
