HOLMS) asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, 948 Whether, having regard to the early termination of the Cape and Zanzibar Mail Contract, and in view of the intended establishment of a submarine telegraph along the East Coast of Africa, under a large subsidy from the Government, he will inform the House if Her Majesty's Government intend to continue the present postal subsidy for the conveyance of Mails between the Cape and Zanzibar after the termination of the present contract in February 1881?
