asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, "Whether negotiations are still going on with Brazil for the settlement of the long pending British claims, and what prospects there are of an early settlement?

MR. BOURKE

Yes, Sir; negotiations still are going on for the settlement of these long pending claims. The Commission to which they have been referred has made considerable progress, as we are informed, and I am happy to inform the hon. Member that there is some hope that in a short time a satisfactory arrangement may be arrived at.
