HC Deb 16 June 1879 vol 246 c1909
MAJOR O'BEIRNE

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, If it would not be desirable to hold an investigation into the manner in which the fisheries of the Sligo Fisheries and the Bonet River, County Leitrim, have been managed by Mr. Brady, Inspector of Fisheries, having regard to the fact that it has been shown by a Return furnished to the Government, at an inspection ordered by the Chief Secretary for Ireland, that the quantity of salmon taken in these fisheries has considerably diminished since the year 1862 up to the present date, in consequence of bye-laws enacted by Mr. Brady, Inspector of Fisheries?

MR. J. LOWTHER

Sir, I have not yet been able to get a full Report. If the Question is repeated, I shall be able to say more in a few days. I find an inquiry has been held into the matter by three Inspectors; so that the name of Mr. Brady ought only to be mentioned in conjunction with that of his colleagues.
