§ MR. M. BROOKSasked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether any, and, if so, what, legal proceedings have been taken in order to obtain a satisfactory account of the residue of the movable property of the ex-Chiefs of Kirwee, in accordance with the Parliamentary Orders of 1873 and 1874; and, whether it is true that, after so many years' delay in furnishing these accounts, the Secretary of State for India in Council has applied to the Court of Chancery for a further postponement of the inquiry?
§ MR. E. STANHOPESir, on the 15th May last the Rev. Alfred Kinloch commenced an action against the Secretary of State for India in Council relating to the Banda and Kirwee prize money, which action was set down for hearing before the Vice Chancellor Sir Charles Hall. The application to postpone the hearing of the cause until 1706 November was made with the consent of the plaintiff, as there was hardly any chance of the case being reached before the Vacation.
