HC Deb 14 July 1879 vol 248 cc303-4
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

asked the Secretary of State for War, If there is any record kept by the Military authorities, or by any department of the War Office, of the number and result of criminal proceedings instituted against soldiers before the civil tribunals in the United Kingdom?

COLONEL STANLEY

Sir, there is no such record in any Department of the War Office, as far as I can ascertain. The only record kept by the military authorities is the entries in the regimental books after each man's name.
