asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he has already arranged that Catholic Chaplains should accompany the reinforcements for the Cape; if not, whether he will take the necessary steps in order that the Catholic officers and soldiers shall not be left without the assistance of ministers of their religion?

Sir, we are sending out one Roman Catholic chaplain to the Forces, and Lord Chelmsford has already engaged the services of a priest who is at the Cape at the present time.
