asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether he intended to remit the sentence of 14 days' imprisonment which had been passed upon a person named Charles Neville for stealing a piece of firewood, value 1d., from the Manchester, Sheffield, and Lincolnshire Railway Company?

in reply, said, he had communicated with the committing magistrates, and until he had received their statement he could not pronounce any opinion.
