HC Deb 25 March 1878 vol 238 c1954
SIR CHARLES RUSSELL

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether, having regard to the frauds constantly committed by forged marks upon china, Her Majesty's Government will place itself in communication with Foreign Governments in order that manufacturers of porcelain or pottery may be compelled to place some distinctive mark thereon?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER,

in reply, said, if the hon. and gallant Baronet would place himself in communication with the Board of Trade, attention would be paid to the subject.
