§ LORD EUSTACE CECILSir, full consideration is being bestowed on the means to be adopted in case of war. There are two batteries on the Clyde— one at Fort Matilda and the other at Dumbarton Castle. The former mounts three medium rifled guns and one 80-pounder, and the latter two 64-pounders. Submarine mining stores have been provided on the Vote of Credit.
