§ MR. W. H. SMITHSir, the reorganization of the clerical staff of the Dockyards will be proceeded with as soon as the re-organization of the clerical staff in London is completed. The increase of salary given to the clerks in the Departments in London was given on special grounds, and not as a preliminary to the re-organization of the departments. I cannot hold out any prospect of a preliminary increase of the salaries of the clerks employed in the Dockyards, as the circumstances of the case are wholly dissimilar from that of the clerks of the Admiralty.
