HC Deb 31 January 1878 vol 237 c726
MR. O'CONNOR POWER

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether, having regard to the fact that the inquiry which he has ordered into the death of the late Sergeant M'Carthy must partake of a medical character, he will consider the propriety of associating with Sir James Ingham in that inquiry, an independent and unofficial medical man?

MR. ASSHETON CROSS,

in reply, said, that he informed Sir James Ingham when he appointed him to make an inquiry into the death of Sergeant M'Carthy that, if he required professional medical assistance, it would be afforded him.
